Today we honor the second place winner of our Book Cover Contest. She expertly used colored pencil and shading to create the urban Afghan landscape of A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. Our second place honor goes to Joanna ZouĀ  of Columbia. We also wanted to let you know that the library provides free online classes in art instruction through a new service called UniversalClass. Want to improve your drawing skills? Interested in fashion design? Taking up landscape painting? These are just a few of the over 500 courses offered. To log in in, you’ll need your DBRL library card number; your PIN is your birthdate (MMDDYYYY).
