2012 Teen Book Tournament: Elite 8 Announced

The March Madness Teen Book Tournament is well underway! So far teens have eliminated 24 books to determine the Elite 8. In case you’re just now joining in, you’ll find a selection of the original 32 finalists available on display in the teen section of the Columbia Public Library.

How the March Madness Teen Book Tournament Works:

Through a series of voting each week in March we are narrowing our list of 32 finalists to one grand champion who will be announced in April.

  • Round 1 (February 6-26): Voting complete.
  • Round 2 (March 5-11): Voting complete.
  • Round 3 (March 12-18): Vote for your favorite 4 individual titles among the Elite 8.
  • Round 4 (March 19-25):Vote for your favorite 2 individual titles among the Final 4.
  • Round 5 (March 26-April 1): Vote or your favorite title among the remaining 2 finalists.
  • April 2: The champion is announced!

Each round that you vote, your name is entered into our prize drawing for free books and gift cards to Barnes & Noble! This week’s winners are Jansen Smith of Boone County and Audrey Brandon of Callaway County. Jansen has won a $15 gift card to Barnes & Noble,  while Audrey has won a free copy of The Lost Songs by Caroline B. Cooney.

For the next round, you may vote online at teens.dbrl.org or pick up a paper ballot at one of our three branch locations. Limit one ballot per person, per round. Learn more at http://teens.dbrl.org/march-madness.
