Today marks the first day of the library’s celebration of Teen Read Week.  This year’s theme is “Seek the Unknown” which invites teens to learn about the unknown through mystery, adventure, sci-fi and fantasy books. Check out the great activities and programs we have planned for this week!

Tuesday: October 15: Registration begins for our Catching Fire Release Party at the Columbia Public Library on October 30 at 6:30 p.m. Feel free to come in costume! To sign-up, please call (573) 443-3161.

Wednesday, October 16: Calling all Minions! Heather Brewer, author of the popular Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, will be visiting the Columbia Public Library on Wednesday, October 16 at 7 p.m. This will be a great program for aspiring writers, lovers of vampire lit and cool people everywhere.

Thursday, October 17: Register to win free autographed copies of Antony John’s latest books, “Elemental” and “Firebrand.” This dystopian thriller follows the story of Thomas who, unlike his friends, lacks supernatural power over one of the four elements—earth, water, wind, or fire.

Friday, October 18: We will announce the winners in of our “Six-Word Memoir” writing contest at teens.dbrl.org!
